GETTING RID OF DEPRESSION AND SUICIDAL THOUGHTS FOR GOOD.

Hey guys! How have you all been?

As you must have noticed, I went a little MIA for a while and that was because I was writing my final exams. Can’t believe I have one semester left of college. Wish me luck!

So, as you can see from the title of this blog post, we are talking about a very touchy issue which has turned really rampant this season.

The statistics of people who are committing suicide are continually rising over here in Nigeria and I have to Say, it is honestly quite alarming.

This just stops at 2016, it’s higher now.

PEOPLE ARE KILLING THEMSELVES OVER FLIMSY REASONS! WHY THOUGH?

First, I’d like to say that no reason is good enough for you to take your own life. You name it! And I’d also say, just like I told my friend “No amount of placards or demonstration will stop people from getting depressed or committing suicide because that is not the solution to the problem!”

Someone literally carrying a placard for a demonstration against depression and suicide could be deeply depressed and contemplating suicide too.

You’d probably hear “oh, he drank poison yesterday. Committed suicide bruh”, and you’re like “how bruh? He was literally carrying a placard against it yesterday”

Why? Well because that’s not the solution! But lucky for you, I’m about to show you the real solution now so keep on reading and share to your friends because this can save someone.

Guys! Depression is not cool!

You know, these days, we have made depression seem so cool and now everyone literally wants to ‘feel depressed’ because it’s like a trend or something and I’m here like… “bruh?wahhh?”

First tip to stop depression. REST! I mean it dude! Take a break. It could even be a break from that relationship. Most people get depressed due to too much work. You need to always eat well, sleep well and exercise. Eat healthy food and do not over eat either. Do not ask me why, ask your tired body when you finish eating a mountain of food.

Second tip is to tell a trusted person about it. I repeat, A TRUSTED PERSON. Most times, people get depressed and stay locked up in their room or tell the wrong people about it. Tell someone who is an authority over you or call a suicide help line. Do not be scared to speak out.

Third tip is to know that you are going to be fine. You may be depressed due to the loss of a loved one or a fail at something but I promise you, that season is going to pass. You are going to get through it, the sun is going to rise the next morning and you are going to wake up strong and happy and ready to take over the day.

Fourth tip is to have company sometimes. This helped me when I was feeling down. I had to stay with friends because most times when I stay alone, I would just be bawling my eyes out and this was not helping out either because it would just bring back past memories. I said sometimes because it is also good to stay alone sometimes.

 This brings me to my last and most important tip. Talk to God about it. Sometimes, you have to be alone, to think and talk to God. Honestly, he is the most romantic person ever and the most amazing fatherly figure. He is always ready to listen.

During that period, most times I would stay in my room and talk to him and basically just weep at his feet, pouring my heart out to him. I would also go to church and be in the company of people who also knew the real cure to this state and I did get help.

 It got better within a month and from what I know now, depression is not related to me and will never be again.

God is the only true solution to depression, he is the only one who has the ability to help you. Quote me anywhere. Most people run away from him due to past sins or guilt but always remember that he is a father, he is ready to forgive and soothe those wounds. Just talk to him and commit to making him your lord and personal savior.

Remember, you should convert depressive thoughts into thanksgiving. Thank God for even the little things. Learn to be grateful. If you keep on thinking about what you do not have, it will continue magnifying before you.

Also, last before I go. IF YOU COMMIT SUICIDE, YOU WILL GO TO HELL! EVEN IF YOU ARE A BELIEVER, HELL I TELL YOU! YOU DO NOT WANT TO GO THERE! HELL WAS NOT CREATED FOR HUMANS! IT IS NOT A PLACE TO BE!
